The Agency Supports Persons with Developmental Disabilities in Living, Learning and Working in their Community.

Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD)

The Center for Autism & Related Disabilities at the University of South Florida is a community-based project that provides information and consultation to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.

Central Florida Autism Institute

A not for profit grass roots organization started by families of children with autism and by concerned professionals. Together we desire simple options of dignity for our children with autism.

Child Find

Early Steps is provided as a locally based program to meet the needs of infants and toddlers with special needs and their families. The local Early Steps closely with the Department of Education, the Agency for Health Care Administration, and with other providers to insure the most effective early intervention services

Florida and Diagnostic Learning Resources System (FDLRS)

The function of Parent Services is to provide training opportunities, information about support groups and community resources, and maintain the FDLRS family preview collection. Receive information on local resources, state and regional trainings as well as other FDLRS events.

Florida Parent Educators’ Association

The Florida Parent Educators Association (FPEA) exists solely to serve homeschooling families in Florida. The FPEA executes that mission through support for the legal right to homeschool, local school board education and interaction, support group networking, a state convention, local conferences and events, informative communications, and most importantly, by giving individual encouragement, all in accordance with Judeo-Christian principles.

Haven Homeschoolers

Haven Homeschoolers is based out of Winter Haven and meets once a month for meetings to discuss upcoming activities. This group consists of field trips, literature club, PE, Jr. Achievement, Chess Club, Community Service projects. 'Tweens and Teens have their own separate activities as well. The purpose of our group is to encourage family members in their homeschooling efforts by providing information, socialization, fellowship and support.

Homeschoolers on the Ridge

Homeschoolers on the Ridge is a support group that meets in Winter Haven and in small groups in the surrounding cities. They hold Parent’s Night Out meetings four times a year at Cypress Ridge Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. They also have monthly small group meetings in the homes of various members.

Hope Homeschoolers

Hope Homeschoolers is a faith-based support group located in Lakeland. They offer monthly, evening Mom’s Meetings and park days.

Lighthouse Homeschoolers

Lighthouse Homeschoolers, Inc. is a Florida Not-for-Profit Corporation based in Lakeland, Florida. It operates as a cooperative group of homeschooling parents and children and provides support to interested homeschoolers throughout Polk County. We are Christian-based but not Christian-exclusive. Our purpose is to encourage family members in their homeschooling efforts by providing information, socialization, fellowship, and support.

Noah’s Ark

Noah’s Ark is committed to empowering individuals who have developmental disabilities by advocating on their behalf and by providing or facilitating meaningful employment, recreational and social opportunities and affordable housing choices.

PEACE Lakeland

PEACE Lakeland stands for Parental Education and Encouragement for Autism in Children Everywhere. The purpose of this group is to provide an educational and supportive environment for anyone working with children on the Autism Spectrum. Serving Lakeland and Polk County, Florida, this website includes a support forum with links to facts, research and resources.

Relationship Development Intervention® (RDI®)

Relationship Development Intervention® (RDI®) is a research based treatment approach developed by Dr. Steven Gutstein and Dr. Rachelle Sheely of The Connections Center in Houston, Texas. RDI certified consultants coach parents in a method that remediates the core deficits of autism.

Sibling Support Project

The Sibling Support Project is a national effort dedicated to the life-long concerns of brothers and sisters of people who have special health, developmental, or mental health concerns.
